$65,000 Judgment Against U.S. Bank!
Updated: Dec 10, 2019

After we won a foreclosure case at trial, U.S. Bank challenged my client's right to recover her attorney's fees incurred defending herself against U.S. Bank. We defeated U.S. Bank at trial and defeated them again, with the circuit court rejecting the bank's arguments and awarding attorney's fees and costs.
There is a perception out there that if you are in foreclosure, you should just throw your hands up and give up. Never stop fighting to save your home! Like I used to say over and over again on the campaign trail, never give up!
After a full evidentiary hearing, the circuit court entered this Final Judgment against U.S. Bank, awarding $65,133.42 in attorney's fees and costs. U.S. Bank may be a multi-billion dollar corporation, but the courtroom is one place where a consumer can level the playing field.
I ran a 15-month campaign for Florida Attorney General on a platform of turning that office into a champion for our consumers. Unfortunately, I did not prevail but am back fighting for our consumers every day as a private attorney, trying to do my part. We can all do our part, whether that be as a private citizen or as a public servant.
I know that one day we will turn the tide and come together to make Florida the most consumer-friendly state in the nation! We just have to keep fighting, one day at a time.
Thanks for reading and hope you have a great evening.
Best,
