Served With Foreclosure Papers In Florida? What you NEED to know.

Updated: Dec 10, 2019

If you are a Florida homeowner and have been served with a foreclosure lawsuit, here's the top 3 things you need to know:

1. Don't call the bank. The bank is trying to take your house. The bank is not your friend.

2. Call a qualified foreclosure defense attorney right away. The bank already has its lawyers in its corner. You need an advocate in YOUR corner. Call us anytime at 813-260-4883 or via email at ryan@torrenslawgroup.com.

3. Pay attention to your 20 day deadline to respond to the lawsuit! The summons you are served with will say that you have 20 days to respond to the lawsuit. You must file a response with the court by that time. Do not just send a letter to the bank explaining your hardship. That is not a legal defense. If you do not respond within the required 20 days, you could lose the case, and your home, by default!
